Rothwell Plumbing Services Ltd have completed their biggest solar photovoltaic installation project to date.
The project for Wigan & Leigh Housing was completed early this year with solar PV installations to more than 1250 social housing properties. This project amounted to almost 4.3 Megawatts of solar panels in total with each home receiving an average of 3.5 kilowatts of solar power. This project by Wigan & Leigh Housing will help to significantly reduce fuel poverty across both boroughs by generating electricity for many tenants through their new solar panels.
A senior representative for Wigan & Leigh said “This has been a very successful project by Rothwell Plumbing Services and has received commendation from our chief executive”.
Following a contract review on completion of phase 1 of the project, where a number of contractors were involved, it was decided that the remainder of the work be awarded solely to Rothwell Plumbing Services based on their excellent performance and the quality of their installations during phase 1.
Graham Rothwell, managing director for Rothwell Plumbing Services said, “We are delighted that this contract has completed on time and within budget. Wigan & Leigh have been an excellent partner to work with and both our organisations have collaborated extremely well in order to complete the work within a very demanding timescale and to a very high standard”.
